Our Capital Campaign to match NYSCA funds has been very successful, and we have matched the $279K grant. Construction to restore our beautiful building is underway, and our dance program and other events will be held off-site.
As plans to renovate the historic building come to fruition and the Conservatory prepared to begin work this fall, TCFA announced a “Close the Gap” Drive. Fundraising continues to cover areas not included in the initial grant proposal, specifically acoustic consultation and treatment and additional exterior work. Thanks to our generous supporters, the Close the Gap Drive has raised an additional $118,000. We are very close to Closing the Gap, and are moving forward with renovation and restoration in September.
For over 40 years Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts has been a leader in advancing dance, music and the visual arts in our region. TCFA enriches our community through education, collaboration, performance and exhibition. To ensure our continued success, a strategic plan has been developed that includes the historic restoration of our home, a landmark Greek revival building, as well as improving accessibility and revitalizing our performance and exhibition space.
As a result of our planning efforts, TCFA has been engaged in a large Capital Campaign to support the project. which will include:

The total project is estimated to cost $751,500.. We have committed grants and donations totaling $676,000, including a major capital matching grant from the New York State Council for the Arts and a matching contribution from the Village of Trumansburg. Currently, we need to raise an additional $75,500.
When will construction begin?
We are projecting to begin construction in September of 2024 our initial fundraising goals are met.
How long will construction last?
Construction is planned to last 6 to 9 months.
Will the building be closed for the entire length of the project?
Although the auditorium will be closed during construction, we expect to have limited use of the main office, music rooms and downstairs classroom (using the side entrance.)
Will the dance program and music lessons continue during construction?
All dance classes will be held in the auditorium of the Trumansburg Elementary School Auditorium for the fall.
TCFA continues our regular programming in various venues around the area. Save the date while we continue to work on firming up our locations.
