On two weekends this fall, TCFA will welcome Laura Rowley who is offering…
Exploring Handmade Paper—From Rags to Pages, Saturday and Sunday, September 19 & 20, 10am to 2pm each day; learn the traditional art and craft of hand-papermaking, to produce papers great for writing, mixed media, and bookmaking;
and
Step into Bookbinding—Basic Structures and Artists’ Books, Saturday and Sunday, September 26 & 27, 10am to 2pm each day; learn basic skills and versatile structures, and explore the juxtaposition of text and images.
Ms. Rowley majored in Book Arts at Wells College, and took her MFA in Book Arts at the University of Alabama, where she also studied education and outreach, as well as planning numerous public events and demonstrations. She has background in printing, and among other projects, is starting a book arts studio in the Trumansburg area.
Both classes are open to youngsters as well as adults; the cost for each class is $85. Youths over 12 may attend on their own. Youngsters 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent; for each class, the price for a parent-child pair is $150.
