For the annual Spring Art Show, TCFA is honored to present Think of It! Julie Hardin: A Retrospective, showcasing the work of long-time Trumansburg resident, Julie Hardin (1937-2010). Hardin, an avid gardener, outdoors enthusiast and camping expert, worked as a teacher and translator. Widely informed and well-traveled, she also spent many wintertime hours on woodworking, producing unusual architectural and horticultural miniatures—buildings, landscapes and formal gardens to scale—as well as figural and abstract sculptures. Some are painted, some not. Some have the character of toys, while others are more intricate and elaborate, on the order of refined folk art. One or two pieces at the show will be set up as “Please Touch” exhibits, for all ages. A small selection of pieces on display will be for sale.
