The Trumansburg Conservatory is very pleased to welcome back Bill Mize, guitar Bill Mizevirtuoso, for a concert on Friday, November 1, 7:30pm. Tickets are available online, as well as locally and at the door. Mize has been hailed by Acoustic Guitar magazine for “a soft touch and a heavy groove.” He also joins such stellar company as Jay Ungar & Molly Mason, Peter Ostroushko, Robbie Robertson, Bix Beiderbecke and Yo-Yo Ma in the distinction of being a contributor to the soundtrack for Ken Burns’s acclaimed PBS series, The National Parks: America’s Best Idea. Mize’s interpretation of Stephen Foster’s beloved “Hard Times” is played in the series’ Episode Four: Going Home (1920-33).
Through special arrangement with Burns’s Florentine Films and PBS, and in conjunction with Bill Mize’s performance, TCFA will present a free showing of the Parks series’ Episode Four on Sunday, October 27, 7:00pm.
Additionally, attendees at the film and the Mize concert will be able to see The Animal Show, the TCFA Fall Invitational art show.
